November 18th - November 22nd
Basketball Schedules
Are not finalized yet, but the first games are scheduled for December 2nd.
Practices over Holidays or when school is out are not mandatory in most cases. However, with the basketball season surrounding Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other holidays many of our coaches will still hold a few practices that are encouraged to attend if possible!
Uniforms
Please return all fall sports uniforms turned in ASAP.
I have been asked if 8th graders can have or buy their uniform and unfortunately, the answer is “no”. It is nearly impossible to get the exact uniform duplicated because styles, materials, and even colors change from year to year. And when schools do this it’s usually a school is purchasing a new set of uniforms, so they are trying to get rid of the old set.
5th-grade, basketball uniforms, and smaller 6th grader’s uniforms will hopefully be handed out this week at school. Next week the remaining uniforms will be handed out.

This week we are beginning some new units in all of our grades. In Pre-K we will be talking about the colors of the rainbow and hear a story about a Rainbow Snail which will be the inspiration for our colorful project. In Kindergarten and 1st grade we will refresh our memory about the primary colors and talk about how they are the most important because of their ability to create the secondary colors. We will be making artist palettes to display our colors later. In 2nd grade we will be creating Fantasy/Treasure Maps illustrating what to expect on our journeys. They will be challenged to make other colors not available through mixing for secondaries, which we will discuss beforehand. In 3rd grade we are designing and building racing chariots from the Ancient Roman times by using toilet paper rolls and other found objects. In 4th grade we will be learning about cargo ships and demonstrating an understanding of balanced colors through our tissue paper depiction. In 5th grade we are talking about Leonardo Da Vinci and how he was so much more than a famous painter known for the Mona Lisa. He was the Renaissance Man, a jack of all trades and a prolific inventor who was inspired by the natural world. They will be tasked with (re)inventing something to solve a problem, but only using technology and materials available during the Renaissance.
This is an exciting time of year when we fall back into existing routines or develop new ones. As your family navigates going back to school, remember that it’s just as important to build in downtime into your schedule. Allow you and your student to have the time to reflect and rejuvenate!
