With the first term winding down, I wanted to give our incredible artists the opportunity to share and present their work to you so far this school year. That is why we are devoting the week to creating art portfolios. I brought in two of my art portfolios from my time in college and working as an artist to show how I stored and presented my work for employers and such. Each student has had the freedom to choose from an array of materials and themes to design and decorate their one-of-a-kind portfolio and they have been really excited about bringing them home to show you. I have assigned these portfolios as a long term homework assignment by asking that they store them in a safe place until the second term commences. I will then remind them to bring them back to school for the next batch of art projects to collect and to continue designing them. Hopefully, we can use these the whole school year!
This is an exciting time of year when we fall back into existing routines or develop new ones. As your family navigates going back to school, remember that it’s just as important to build in downtime into your schedule. Allow you and your student to have the time to reflect and rejuvenate!
