November 4th - November 8th

Fall sports officially are over and the winter season has begun!

Congrats to the tennis team, which won the City Championships in both boys' and girls' divisions. There are 5 matches held in the finals to determine the winner of the top team and it's the best out of those 5 matches,  so you need to win at least 3-2. Well, both the boys and the girl's squads won 4 matches to 1 completely dominating their 2nd-place opponent !

JV Football had a great year and finished second to a much physically bigger SJS team. “The guys never gave up and played hard to the end,” Coach Brooks Ziegler told them and he was so right!

The week prior your Eagles beat/  SCPS 24-0 to advance!

6th Grade volleyball also captured second place

I WOULD ENCOURAGE ALL PARENTS TO READ ARTICLES ON THE PROS AND CONS OF SPECIALIZING IN ONE SPORT!

Halloween is among us and this week we’ve been doing some fun projects both cute and creepy. In Kindergarten, we read a book entitled Si! and No!, which is mostly a picture book of skeleton siblings who illustrate appropriate and not so appropriate behaviors. It’s fun and silly with good messaging of manners. Mrs. Murphy caught some photos of us making our art project based on the book. 1st grade is making ghosts that are quilts based on another book entitled The Little Ghost Who was a Quilt. 2nd-5th grade are making mostly silhouetted haunted houses with the traditional black and orange colors that are Halloween.

This is an exciting time of year when we fall back into existing routines or develop new ones. As your family navigates going back to school, remember that it’s just as important to build in downtime into your schedule. Allow you and your student to have the time to reflect and rejuvenate!
