Happy Thanksgiving!

We rounded up our week with our wonderful Thanksgiving feasts around the school. Thank you to our parents and faculty who helped make these events happen!

Our Second Harvest Food Drive was a success. Thank you to our community for generously donating and participating. We look forward to additional opportunities in the future to support this amazing organization!

It is hard to believe that December is around the corner! Be on the lookout for important information regarding our schoolwide service project and special events. 

UNIFORM POLICY REMINDER

Skirts and jumpers should be no shorter than 3 inches above the knee. Sweaters and sweatshirts should not fully cover skirts, shorts, or skorts.

December 6th will be an ALL-SCHOOL ASSEMBLY. No PE uniforms.

Extended Reminder
Parents should not walk into the school without checking in at the office, even after school, during extended care.  If your child has lost an item or forgot a book, lunch box, sweater, etc, please email your teacher.  

HDS Swim hits the pool in their first meet this year, Friday, November 17th @ Chatham County Aquatic Center, 5:30pm-7:00pm.

The Basketball store is open now until Sunday (11:59pm).  Get your basketball gear now!

Please check the Athletic Calendar for meetings and games.  Coaches will contact you about practices.

The first graders loved designing, making, and sailing their Mayflowers.  In second grade we read about the Westward Movement and tornados.  Then we used bottles to make our own tornados. In PreK we learned the Turkey Hokey Pokey after reading Pete the Cat’s Thanksgiving Play.  Third graders are enjoying my favorite book of all, Sideways Stories from Wayside School.  Fourth graders are reviewing nonfiction text features, and fifth graders are beginning a research unit.
