December 4th - December 8th

 

It’s hard to believe that December is here! The next few weeks will be busy with fun projects and events across the Lower School community. 

This week, we will have our All School Assembly on Wednesday, December 6th. We will continue to focus on our virtue, and community. A representative from Urban Hope will speak briefly to our students about the organization and the work they do for children and families in Savannah. HDS will be partner with Urban Hope to support their mission with a few projects. More information will be shared on December 6th. 

NO PE UNIFORMS on DECEMBER 6th

December 11 through December 15th will be our Holiday Spirit Week. Be sure to check out the flyer attached to the Eagle’s Nest with details. We look forward to this fun way to celebrate the holiday season as a community!

Important Dates:

December 15 - 9:30 am, Holiday Program, Grades PK - 5. Half Day. Dismissal is at 11:30. Students are welcome to sign out after the performance. No after-school activities. 

December 18th - January 2nd - School Holiday

January 3, 2024 - School Resumes

January 15, 2024 - School Closed

UNIFORM POLICY REMINDER
Skirts and jumpers should be no shorter than 3 inches above the knee. Sweaters and sweatshirts should not fully cover skirts, shorts, or skorts.

December 6th will be an ALL-SCHOOL ASSEMBLY. No PE uniforms.

Extended Reminder
Parents should not walk into the school without checking in at the office, even after school, during extended care.  If your child has lost an item or forgot a book, lunch box, sweater, etc, please email your teacher.  

Congratulations to Coach Greg and the HDS Swim Team for placing second at their first meet.  What a great start to the season!  Go Eagles!  Good luck at the meet on Monday @ 5:30 PM, Chatham County Aquatic Center!

8th grade boys Basketball teams will be competing in a Basketball Tournament this Saturday @ Lee Roy Myers Middle School.  They will play Myers @ 1pm and Rice Creek @ 4pm.  Let’s cheer on our Eagles!

The HDS Athletic Calendar is loaded with all of the upcoming basketball games and swim meets.  The Athletic Department is looking for volunteers to help with the Entry Gate and Concession Stand at our home games.  Please go to SignUpGenius to find an open spot.

WE ARE SO LUCKY THAT E. SHAVER BOOKSELLERS WILL BE HERE FOR ANOTHER BOOK FAIR NEXT WEEK.  WE WILL BE OPEN MONDAY - FRIDAY FROM 9:00 TO 3:00.  PLEASE COME SHOPPING ANYTIME.  OUR LIBRARY WILL BE A GREAT PLACE TO "GIVE THE GIFT OF READING."
