October 16th - October 20th

October is a busy month and there is a lot to look forward to! I know our teachers have been doing a fabulous job keeping up with their Instagram pages. It's a great way to see what is happening in the classroom and on campus! There is also an HDS account on both Instagram and Facebook where you can find great pictures and important information!

If you have not checked out our website recently, please do so! Cindy Drew has been working hard to update the content and the look of our site. It looks great!

Hi all! What a GREAT week of athletics we had. Congrats to Varsity Football for a share of regular season Championship and congrats to 4th grade Flag Football for an undefeated season!! We are also very excited that Hancock Tennis has made its debut this week.

We are enjoying Fall in the library.  In PreK we read about a giant leaf pile and then jumped on a leaf pile!!  They are so much fun.  In kindergarten we are reading about ghosts leading up to Halloween, but the books are not scary!!  In first grade we took a field trip to the moon.  The 2nd graders are participating in the Candy Corn Contest and reading the book.  Winners will be announced on Halloween.  Third grade is continuing to enjoy Sideways Stories from Wayside School.  Fourth Grade is focused on mysteries and asking questions. Fifth graders are exploring fiction books in the Middle School section, and they all did a great job exploring structural engineering in STEAM.
