The Art Contest Winners were announced this week! Their beautiful pictures have been mounted on my office wall to be enjoyed for the remainder of the school year. I appreciate all of the amazing entries and am continually impressed with the art skills of our HDS students!

HAPPY SPRING BREAK!!

We have been busy this week in the library.  In PreK, our leprechaun visited and LEFT US GOLD AND GREEN COINS!!  We also enjoyed reading Pete the Cat’s Leprechaun's Chase and finding the hidden coins.  In kindergarten we began our study of Caldecott Award books.  Our first graders celebrated Joke Day.  LOL in the library!  Second Graders flew on Hancock Air for a quick trip to India.  They loved the trip and the snacks.  Hopefully, they learned something about India too. I forgot to take pictures of them on the plane so you just received a pic of the flight attendant.   Third graders read The Legend of Rock, Paper, Scissors.  Of course, we played “Rock, Paper, Scissors” too.  Fourth graders finished up their bibliographies and continued to discover historical fiction.  Finally, in fifth grade we began our overview of the decades of the 20th Century.  We will work on research skills once they find their topic in Mrs. Tucker’s class.
