January 9th - January 13th

Happy New Year to all! I hppe you had a wonderful break filled with love, laughter, and fun!

January 16, 2023 - School Closed - MLK Holiday

January 17, 2023 - PreK Testing - No school for PreK students

This month’s virtue is COMMITMENT - I am reading different books to grade levels that have a main character who must work hard, and be committed to attaining a goal. These characters face some challenges and are fortunate to have a supportive side-kick (or two) along the way. I’ve encouraged the students to come up with something to commit to this month and am confident they will all give it their best!

I had some wonderful submissions for my art contest. The winners are:

K- Olivia Grill

1- Benjamin Looten

2 - Owen Wanager, Burke Greco, Lillian Blumlie

3 - Ryan Fulchi, Sam Moody, Anjali Devisetty

4- Wiliam Blaine, Emma Kate, Crighton Jue

5- Sloane Greco

Library News

The month of January is SO MUCH FUN!!  This week we are reading about Winter and having a snowball fight in PreK.  In Kindergarten, we waddled like penguins after reading Pete the Penguin.  First graders will start studying weather next week.  And I have great lessons planned.  Second grade played musical books to introduce the Fiction Section of more difficult chapter books.  We are almost finished with Sideways Stories of Wayside School in third grade.  Fourth graders checked out their biographies for book reports.  And fifth graders began using the RACE writing strategy.
