October 3rd - October 7th

Last week was interesting. We started off with Jersey Day. Students and teachers were showing their spirit supporting their teams from all over! Then came  Pajama Day, one of my favorites. There’s nothing better than learning while in your most cozy attire!  Character Day was a hit too. Students and teachers showed up in some amazing costumes. I can’t wait to see what Halloween brings! Ian put a damper on the rest of Spirit Week, but all of our cheer kept the heart and soul of HDS bright!

As communicated, VIP/Grandparents Day has been moved to October 21st. This will be a regular school day; however, students are allowed to leave after the program and classroom visit if desired. Proper change in dismissal protocols must be followed and children must sign out. After school programs will operate on a normal schedule this day.

We have also rescheduled Glow Day for Thursday, October 13th. Students may wear their Homecoming t-shirts and we will have a Pep Rally in the afternoon to celebrate our HDS athletes!

We jumped right back into learning this week! Pete the Cat visited with PreK - 2nd grade students. With the weather turning a little cooler, some classes are enjoying dining and learning outside!

CARPOOL  - Please remember that morning carpool begins at 7:50 and runs through 8:15. We realize that this past week was a little tough due to the excitement at school each morning and the seemingly never ending repaving of Howard Foss; however, it is imperative that all children are out of their cars by 8:15am. Teachers need to return to their classrooms by 8:15 to begin class. If teachers are no longer actively opening car doors, we ask that you pull up as far as possible, let your child out of the car and sign him/her in before he/she heads to the classroom. We thank you in advance for your cooperation!

Here are some pictures from last week!
