Please look for the Net Cetera Booklet in your child’s backpack. Net Cetera: Chatting with Kids About Being Online is a guide for parents, teachers, and other adults who spend time with kids. It offers practical advice and ideas for getting the conversation started about social networking, privacy, mobile devices, computer security, and dealing with cyberbullying.

Grandparents’ and VIP Day - Friday, September 30
Performance for PK-5 grade begins at 9 am!
Students should be in UNIFORM, no PE clothes.
Regular dismissal is at 12; however, students may be dismissed with their visitors after the performance. Students must sign out with their classroom teachers before leaving.
I have had a great time visiting classrooms and reading one of my favorite books, Mr. Pusskins, to each class! Make Space, research, Jeopardy, musical phonics in Kindergarten, were among some of the wonderful things I have enjoyed. I even witnessed our 4th Grade Flag Football team crush their opponent at a game last week (I think the score was something like 72-6!!!). Savannah State baseball players have also visited some classrooms to read aloud and share some wisdom about being an athlete.
It has been a busy few weeks! I can’t wait to experience the great fun ahead with Spirit Week, Homecoming, and Grandparents/VIP Day! I will be sure to rest up!

Library News
The last two weeks have been VERY busy in the library. In Prek, we read Don’t Bring Your Dragon to the Library and checked out books for the classroom. This week we read about apples and went on a pretend field trip to pick apples. Then “Chef Hill” helped us make pretend applesauce. We could just imagine the taste. Yum!! In kindergarten we read Mae Among the Stars and flew straw rockets. In 1st and 2nd grades we finished our “Help Harry” houses while working in pairs. We begin to read about space next week in 1st grade. There is a BIG surprise coming in Makerspace. In 2nd and 3rd grades we are reading humorous novels. In 4th grade students are visualizing to improve their reading comprehension, and 5th graders are summarizing fiction.
