Eight Weeks!
With just eight weeks left in the school year, we know that it’s easy to be distracted by the warmer temperatures and all of the events taking place in our community. We encourage families to do their best to stick to regular routines and continue to carve out time to studying and homework. There is still plenty of time left between now and final report cards, and we want to work together with families to ensure that students achieve their best!
Students in Action
While standardized testing was a big part of our life at school this week, we also made time for fun! On Wednesday we hosted visitors from OCEARCH, a global nonprofit that students sharks. They presented to our fourth and fifth graders and taught them all about the work they do and why shark tagging is so important.
On Thursday Leopold’s treated our entire fifth grade to an ice cream party as a reward for Lily Spring’s big win in their poetry contest! See below for her poem “Kindness”.
Kindness
For always be kind
You don't know what's going through someone else's mind
For always care
You don't know what someone has to bear
When you are kind change might come upon someone's mind
And when you care change mind come upon what someone has to bear
Remember this and your good deed will always come back to you
And you'll leave one more person feeling a whole lot less blue.
