August 31st - September 4th

Dress Code - Haircuts

Our uniform policy states that boys’ hair should not extend beyond the top of the collar or obscure a student’s face. Understanding that some of our families may be seeking to limit unnecessary trips out in the community, we have not yet enforced this policy this year. Beginning Tuesday, September 8th, our teachers will be sending home a notification with children who still need haircuts. If you know that your child needs to have a trim, please work to make this happen in advance of Tuesday, September 8th.

Visits to Campus / Dropping off Items

We are continuing to limit access to our buildings to our students, faculty, and staff members. As such, we instruct our faculty, staff, and students to not open or hold doors for parents or visitors. There are drop off bins and coolers outside where you may place papers or items that your child may have forgotten. We check the bins periodically throughout the day, but it is always a good idea to buzz the office (press the silver button by the door) to let us know that you have left something.

Carpool - Checking out Early

Due to our staggered dismissal times this year, picking up your child early for an afternoon appointment can be a challenge. If you need to pick up your child before their scheduled dismissal time, we recommend picking up no later than 2:15pm. This will give you time to depart campus with your child before cars begin to line up for the primary building’s 2:45 dismissal.

Did You Know…

If your child is absent from school for any reason, our school nurse needs to be informed as well as your child’s classroom teacher. We are fortunate to have three school nurses (Eliza Brooks, Akisha Lowe, and Marci Roberts), and they all share the email address nurse@hancockdayschool.org
