April 6th - April 10th

Additional Material Pick Up
Given the extended closure of our physical campus, a few grade levels have some extra materials they would like to make available to our families.  On Thursday, April 9th, there will be tables set up outside of the main doors of the school (Green Gate) with student work and materials clearly labeled by class for children in preKindergarten, kindergarten, and first grade.  The tables will be outside by 9am, and at 2pm we will bring anything that has not been collected inside.

Out of concern for the health and safety of our community, faculty and staff will not be present for this pick up.  Families will simply pull up on the curb and pick up their child’s materials off of the labeled tables.

Plans from Special Areas
As we continue to refine our model for remote learning, we seek to streamline communication in order to better serve busy families during these stressful and strange times. Moving forward you will notice a new format for assignments from our special area teachers. In each grade level, speciality teachers will provide a one page choice board with a variety of assignments from which students can select each week. We ask students to complete three assignments on the choice board, but they are always welcome to go above and beyond!
In addition to these choice boards, we continue to encourage students to spend at least thirty minutes each day being physically active. Also, don’t forget about our Appalachian Trail project!

Trip Cancellations
As announced last week, class trips for grades second, third, fourth, and fifth have been cancelled. Any money that has already been paid for any of these trips will be credited directly to your tuition.

Did You Know?
Your child can help provide encouragement for medical professionals on the front lines by writing a supportive note, making a card, or drawing a picture. Notes and pictures can be dropped off in the labeled box outside the front door of HDS (Green Gate) on Thursday, April 9th.  Items will be distributed to medical professionals at our local hospitals.
