Interim Reports & Grades
Interim reports provide another opportunity for teachers to touch base with parents and update them on children’s progress. Traditionally we give interim reports to students who have a 79 average or lower in an academic class, though teachers will sometimes also issue them for students who have had a significant positive or negative change in their class performance. These reports will be sent via email this afternoon for students who need them.
Final report cards are still several weeks away, and I will share more details with you regarding our plans for reporting year end progress as that time approaches. For now, working closely with your child’s classroom teacher to address any areas of concern is your best plan of action. We know that remote learning presents an extra challenge for our families, and we want to work with you to support your child and help him/her feel successful.
Survey Responses
Thank you to all of our families who have taken the time to complete the survey we shared last week. I am reading every single comment and actively looking for new ways to support our students and their families through remote learning. If you have not yet had a chance to complete the survey, please take the time to do so. Remote Learning Survey
Zoom Etiquette
In order to make our Zoom sessions as effective as possible at every grade level, please support your child in creating a quiet space for class Zooms. Students should be prepared for the Zoom session with the required class materials, and pets and other electronic devices should be put away. Students also need to be sitting up at a table or desk.
Did You Know?
Students are still expected to engage in special classes (art, music, PE, Spanish, library, and computer) through the choice boards shared weekly at each grade level. Each choice board provides a variety of fun options from which students can select. Additionally, page two of the document contains optional extension activities for students who want an extra challenge.
