March 30th - April 3rd

Trip Cancellations
Spring is always a busy time at school, and there are several important class trips on the horizon.  Given the COVID-19 pandemic and our current remote learning status, it is with heavy hearts that we announce that the trips listed below have been cancelled.

  • The fifth grade class trip to the Driftwood Educational Center
  • The fourth grade class trip to the Tybee Island Burton 4-H Center
  • The third grade class trip to Charleston, South Carolina
  • The second grade class trip to the Jacksonville Zoo

Please know that this decision was difficult, but the safety of our students is always paramount.  We have every hope that we will be back in school by late April, but out of respect for the educational needs of our students and the value of our parent chaperones’ time, we felt it necessary to make these decisions and communicate them as soon as possible.  Any money that has been paid for any of these trips will be credited directly to your tuition.

Did You Know?
All across Savannah, our students are connecting with their classes and teachers via Zoom.  Even our kindergarteners tried it this week, and I hear that pre-K may give it shot in the weeks to come!  For our older students, Zoom connections are an important chance to learn academic content with the help of their teacher and the support of their peers.
Our teachers are wonderful at reminding students about Zoom etiquette, but you can help by reinforcing a few points at home.
  1. Students should refrain from eating while Zooming with their teacher or classes.
  2. Cell phones, tvs, and other electronic distractions should be turned off or put away.
  3. When possible, remove pets from the room before the Zoom session begins.
We are grateful for a very successful first four days of remote instruction, and we look forward to continuing to learn about ourselves and our students as we overcome new challenges together.
