February 3rd - February 7th

Excellence Fund
Thank you to all of our families that have already donated generously to the Excellence Fund.  The projects supported by this money will directly benefit students in all grade levels and help build enthusiasm for so many aspects of our school.  As you may have heard, we have some exciting opportunities coming up in February to celebrate the success of our Excellence Fund.

If you haven’t made your donation yet, please reach out to Charleen Crawford for additional details on how you can contribute. The venmo account for The Excellence Fund is @HDSExcellenceFund if you wish to donate right now!

Friday, February 7th we will have a school-wide pep rally to celebrate the amount of money raised thus far and highlight our winter athletic teams.

Friday, February 14th students from families who have donated thus far will be allowed to have a dress down day and showcase their “love of Hancock" with a sticker.

We will also have a grade wide celebration once all the families from our grade have contributed. Remember – we are hoping for 100% participation from our HDS families as the Excellence Fund will allow us to accomplish many exciting projects for our school!

Middle School Admissions Preview for Rising 6th Graders
Parents of current fifth grade students, please plan to attend our middle school admissions preview on Tuesday, February 4th at 9:15am in Hancock Hall.  This event is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about our middle school, meet the faculty, and ask questions. Please RSVP to Cindy Drew. (cdrew@hancockdayschool.org)

Cold and Flu Season
Thank you all for your help keeping children healthy by adhering to our attendance policy for sick children.  As a reminder, we require children to be free of vomiting, diarrhea, and fever (without the use of fever-reducing medications) for 24 hours before returning to school. If your child is sick, please also be sure to notify our school nurse by emailing nurse@hancockdayschool.org.
We will continue our efforts to keep everyone healthy by teaching the proper techniques for handwashing and emphasizing good hygiene.  See below for great video reminder about how to wash your hands.
